Good afternoon. I'm hoping that you all will help me to spread the word about the recently updated Core Competencies for the Practice of Industrial Hygiene. Whether you are a student, an early career professional or someone who has been an IH/OH for a number of years, the Core Competencies publication is essential reading for everyone involved in the practice.
Core Competencies outlines the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities that an IH/OH working at different levels of practice should possess. This revision also includes many of the soft skills that are required to be successful as an industrial hygienist.
Perhaps you can use it to guide your decision-making when it comes time to plan the sessions you will attend at AIHce or maybe you can use it to select a particular professional development course in the coming years. For example, when mapping out your 5 year personal development plan. I would also encourage mentors and mentees to use this document to decide on which technical topics to focus on during your mentoring partnership.
